Working together to safeguard adults with care and support needs

Policy and procedures

City of York Safeguarding Adults Board is responsible for developing and implementing Safeguarding Adults Policy and Procedures.  This will ensure individuals respond appropriately where abuse or neglect may be taking place  and anyone in contact with an adult with care and support needs, whether in a voluntary or paid role, must understand their own role and responsibility and have access to practical and legal guidance, advice and support, where necessary.

City of York Safeguarding Adults Board also publishes multi-agency safeguarding procedures and City of York Local Operational Guidance to help individuals and organisations understand what they should do to help safeguard adults with care and support needs.

The City of York Safeguarding Adults Board updated with partners to finalise local operational guidance in April 2018.  This is now available below both in full and summary form, and Board member organisations are in agreement to work within the framework it provides.
